Big eSIM Plans: 50 GB, 100 GB and Up for Long Trips
How big an eSIM plan can you buy? With eSimphony you can ask Moza for any whole number of GB up to 1,000 — and bigger plans last longer. Here is how to size one for a long trip.
A week in one country is easy to plan for. A month of rail travel across Europe, a summer of festivals, or a long work trip with a laptop on hotspot is not. That is when a small data plan stops making sense.
Most travel eSIMs top out at a fixed menu — a few sizes, a few durations. If your trip needs 60 GB over three months, you end up stacking small plans and watching them expire one by one.
eSimphony works differently. You can ask for any whole number of GB, up to 1,000, and bigger plans last longer.
How big can you go?
There is no menu to choose from. Tell Moza, the assistant in the eSimphony app, where you are going and how much you need, and she quotes that exact plan:
- Anything from 1 GB to 1,000 GB, in whole GB.
- One country or a region. Regional plans cover Europe, Asia or North America on one eSIM.
- The exact amount, validity and price are shown before you pay.
Because the plan goes onto the same lifetime eSIM you already have, there is nothing new to install for the next trip. The big-plans table on the pricing page sums up the sizes and validity.
How long big plans last
Bigger plans come with longer validity, so a big plan isn't racing a short clock.
| Data | Validity | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 1–50 GB | 60 days | Trips from a weekend to several weeks |
| 51–100 GB | 120 days | Long trips |
| 101–1,000 GB | 180 days | Very long trips, or multi-country trips on a regional plan |
Validity starts on the day you buy. A few plans differ — the North America regional plan, for example, lasts 15 days on plans up to 50 GB — and Moza always shows the exact validity before you pay.
Multi-country trips: regional or a plan per country
If your route stays inside one region, a regional plan keeps everything on one plan:
- Europe — 37 countries, including every EU country except Malta, plus the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Turkey.
- Asia — 12 countries, including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
- North America — the US, Canada and Mexico.
If your route leaves a region, or includes a country outside the regional plan, Moza puts together a plan for each country. Moza compares the options on price, so for a long trip, check the validity she shows before you pay.
How to size a big plan
Data use varies a lot from person to person, but these rough figures help you pick a starting point:
| Activity | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Maps, messaging, social, browsing | 0.3–0.7 GB a day |
| Video calls | about 0.5–1.5 GB an hour |
| HD streaming | about 1–3 GB an hour |
| A laptop on hotspot for work | 1–3 GB a working day |
A month of maps and social with a few video calls a week often lands around 20–30 GB. Add daily hotspot work, and 60–100 GB is more realistic. If you are unsure, round up a little: with 120 or 180 days of validity on big plans, you have time to use it.
Plans are for travel
eSimphony plans are made for travel, not for continuous use as a home connection in one country. Fair use applies to every plan, as set out in the fair use terms. If you are moving abroad for a semester or longer, a local SIM is usually the better fit for daily life — keep eSimphony for the trips around it.
What if you don't use it all?
Even with a well-sized plan, trips change. Before a plan ends, you can transfer unused data into data for another country, or into your eSimphony Balance (credit for future plans). Transfer moves value, not gigabytes: the value falls as the plan's days pass, and a transfer fee applies — so the earlier you transfer, the more it is worth. The transfer page explains how it works.
How to buy a big plan
- Open the eSimphony app and tell Moza where you are going and for how long.
- Ask for the amount you need — for example, "80 GB for Europe."
- Check the amount, validity and price, then buy a day or two before you fly. Validity starts when you buy.
- Install the eSIM it comes with on Wi-Fi at home. Already have the eSimphony eSIM? It stays on your phone; the new plan goes onto it.
Big trips need big plans. Size yours to the trip, not to a menu — get the eSimphony app and ask Moza.
